Artistic Director Bio

Graduate of Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston, Teacher Education Training School.  An Award Winning Choreographer and Master Teacher thoughout New England, coaching young pre-professional students as well as teachers.

Several of Teri’s students have been the recipients of various Dance Scholarship Awards.  Her students have been accepted into prestigious schools such as:  The America Academy of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Central Florida Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, Miami City Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre, The Rock, Universal Ballet Academy, Kirov Academy and Walnut Hill.  Many of these students have gone on to become teachers.

Teri attended the American Academy of Ballet where she was a resident attendant for their summer study program.  The following year she was hired by ABT to work on staff at their summer intensive.  She was selected to head the dance department at Camp Walt Whitman in Piermont, NH.  In her spare time, Teri enjoys working as an assistant teacher for the Salem, NH School District.

Shaina Lumb comes from a family, who for decades have been involved in the dance community,  by working in private studio and competition settings. Shaina was enrolled in dance class at the early age of 2. As she grew older, she displayed natural ability and advanced rapidly. As a student, Shaina participated in many competitions winning numerous awards for group and solo dancing. To further her dance education, Shaina attended conventions, master classes and workshops throughout New England.  The highlight of Shaina’s career was having had the opportunity to assist a dance program for special needs students. Shaina is very excited to share her knowledge, experiences and love for dance with her students.

lilly_cryan  Faculty Member: Lilly Cryan

Lilly Cryan grew up in the New England town of Haverhill, Massachusetts.  She began her dance training at a young age after seeing her older cousin’s dance recital.  She trained at The Salem Dance Network under the Direction of Teri Desrosiers.  There she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Modern dance.  After her senior year of high school she ventured down to Towson, Maryland to earn her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Towson University.  There she studied Ballet, Modern, and Aerial dance with Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Catherine, Horta Hayden, Ronqiao Du, Jayne Bernascone, and Vincent Thomas.

Lilly has performed for Towson University Dance Company, Boston Community Dance Project, Kairos Dance Theater, and Pantos Project.  She has choreographed for Onstage Dance Company, Nachmo Boston, and aMaSSiT.  In addition to performing she has also stage managed A State of Grace directed  by Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell.

Lilly enjoys sharing her love of dance by teaching.  She believes in the importance of inspiring our youth to connect with their bodies through dance and to become lifelong lovers of dance.

In addition to dance, Lilly also practices and teaches Vinyasa Yoga.  She discovered yoga after a dance teacher incorporated yoga into a warm up.  While at Towson Lilly began practicing yoga at Sid Yoga Center.  In 2014, Lilly completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification at Sid Yoga Center.




  Special Guest Faculty Members:

 debbie    Debbie Beal

Debbie has been teaching dance to students of all ages and levels for over 25 years. She is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston/American Society, and a 1985 graduate from the DTCB/AS Dance Education Training Course.

As a dancer, Debbie has performed professionally with the “Jazz Connection” and has received many gold medals and special awards such as “Most Potential”, “Most Enthusiastic” and “Best Smile”. She has led her own students to receive many gold medals, high score awards and various special awards both regionally and nationally. Her students have also qualified to participate in the “Dance Offs” at ADA’s National Competition. She has trained with many dance legends such as David D. Marie, the Golds, Frank Hachett and Mary Jane Strondak, and continues to train in Boston and New York.

Debbie created the New England Civic Ballet Performance Ensemble, a dance group that participates in community service performances as well as local competitions. In 2012, her students performed aboard the US Intrepid Aircraft Carrier in New York City. A graduate of Northeastern University, Debbie is certified as a personal trainer, a group fitness instructor, Zumba and CPR. She also works part time as a Physical Education Instructor at Northern Essex Community College. Debbie’s love and vitality for dance is evident in her work, and she is very excited to join the Salem Dance Network family.

    Jessica Beal

Jessica is a recent graduate from Dean College and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Theatre.  During her 3 years at Dean, Jessica has performed in many musicals, dance and theatre productions such as Bye Bye Birdie, Rosencrantz and Gildenstern, Backstage Dance Company, and In the Heights.  She was a member of the Dean College Dance Company, as well as invited to choreograph and perform a piece in Dean’s prestigious Art Mosaic.  In addition, Jessica has performed in Walt Disney World and on the Intrepid in NYC.

Jessica has had extensive training in many genres of dance under the direction of a multitude of talents including Jill Silverman, Todd Shanks, Bill Evans, Jeremy Howes, Debbie Beal, Angie Conte, and Tina Fosman.  Because of her strong love of ballet, Jessica has held numerous roles en pointe in many productions such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, The Enchanted Glen and Snow White.  Besides teaching master classes at local studios, Jessica’s newest love of teaching has been as various Princess roles, teaching ballet to young dancers.  Jessica is excited to continue sharing her love of the arts as well as pursuing performance opportunities in Massachusetts and New York.
